Collective research + attunement
Relationscape Lab explores how habitual definitions and patterns of perception can inhibit curiosity. Its work attends to the aliveness of everyday experience and to the relationships continually forming among people, place, movement, and the more-than-human world. The Lab takes its name from artist and philosopher Erin Manning’s concept of the relationscape: a topological experience that cannot be reduced to landscape—a way of being with and thinking with the world without separability.
Initiated by Lisa Lee Benjamin through her postdoctoral research, in association by the Urner Institut Kulturen der Alpen, the Relationscape Lab shares conceptual and practical roots with Amöbe. The Lab acts as a research incubator—a space in which questions, practices, and
collaborations can develop through situated experimentation, reflection, documentation, and encounter. Symposia, research papers, artistic publications, educational projects, and an ongoing digital Anarchive emerge from this work without individually defining its limits.
